Our cat Mickey isn’t wild about the snow but he’s able to work out a few paths around the chalet and surrounding area. Born as a feral cat on a derelict farm in the Peak District of England he’s quite well travelled having lived in the UK, three places in Germany and a couple of places in Switzerland along with a couple of trips to France. In fact, he actually has a Swiss Passport, a cat one of course.

It’s actually not the first snow quite but we’ve had snow falls all across Switzerland and it feels like winter is on the way. It’s pretty quiet here in Zinal right now, the lifts were supposed to open for the weekend but it was postponed and we’re expecting some lifts running next weekend.

It always looked optimistic to me for Zinal to open this weekend (10th Nov) and it’s now announced that it’s postponed until 17th Nov. Some more snow is forecast over the next week and snow making will continue. The plan is that Zinal will open weekends only for the general public until Dec 8th when it will open during the week as well. Progress with the snow cannons has been pretty impressive so far and a considerable quantity of snow has been laid down. This is from the webcam today (8th Nov) :
