2006 01 07/08/09 – Les Arcs/La Plagne
This is a followup to the previous entry. Rob@rar.org.uk of here on MSS and Snowheads had kindly invited me to spend a few days skiing with him in Les Arcs from his apartment there.
Les Arcs was one of the first places I skied in the Alpes about 15 years ago so it was great to go back again. The domain is much extended now of course with the addition on the link to the La Plagne which we took advantage of on Saturday.

The full gallery is here.
We met up with Peter Garwood over at La Plagne on Saturday along with the large camera that’s producing a lot of the photo’s on MySnowSports. Rob is there in the foreground.

I was pretty amazed that the lifts run so late in Les Arcs which allows skiing as the light begins to fade. I find this pretty atmospheric, empty slopes and great evening light.

Even though I’d been before I’d not remembered how stunning the scenery over at Peisy was.

And finally, the lift guys were practicing rescuing people of the lift. It’s reassuring to know they’re well prepared.

A long way from home in a foreign land ![]()

I’m spending a few days over in Les Arcs with Rob from SnowHeads at his place there. It’s some time since I skied here so it’s good to be back.

…..it’s a large one ….
We took the Transarc over to La Plagne to meet PG and skied round into Champagny a little
