A pretty deserted Mont d’Or! It’s part of the Métabief ski area just over the border in France. And yet again it’s escaped the low cloud we’re getting in the 3-lacs region.

Another trip over the border to the Jura in France, this time to do a via ferrata over there. It’s pretty much in the town of Morez which apparently has some special connection with optical glasses, they’ve a museum and some specialist factories, all closed today as it was a public holiday. Fortunately the via ferrata wasn’t busy, I’d had visions of queues to get on it but when we arrived there were a party sat on one ledge having a break and another couple who arrived a couple of minutes after, we let the late arrivers through which turned out to be a good decision.

For safety I prefer to keep some separation on the sections of of the VF and not have two people in the same cable run, the groups in front of us didn’t seem to concerned about this and I’d have hated to have them behind us as we’d no doubt have to had words about it.
