Zinal powder
I didn’t take any photos yesterday but it was excellent skiing in pretty poor visibility but amazing snow conditions. Grimentz was open today but I thought we’d have better skiing here given the lifts open and as the bus isn’t running I couldn’t really be bothered to get the car out and slide around on the untreated roads.
I’m not sure that I don’t like this level of opening, if you know the terrain and are prepared to walk and/or traverse there’s not a lot you can’t access and the advantage is it cuts down the numbers hitting the powder.
Really the snow’s been extraordinary, cold weather has kept the powder in good condition and there’s no shortage of it.

Hello!
What’s the place in the first photo? Nice looking terrain and pretty good snow conditions! We are arriving to Grimentz on 20.12. and the overall snow-conditions seems to be excellent.
that’s just Zinal, that will be one of the black pistes when it’s fully open.
Hi there,
I`m in Grimentz this Friday for a few days. Did you ski from Zinal down to the Moiry Dam then onto Grimentz, and was it rock free? A favourite of our group, but I don`t want to ruin the new skis!
John
the slopes below the barrage are not stable currently so it’s not a good line to ski just now
